Here's a summary of the anime!
*Spoiler Alert!*
Miaka's brother, fearing for her life, contacts Chichiri and Tasuki and they appear out of the book to protect Miaka from Nakago. When all looks hopeless, Miaka summons Suzaku. She wishes for Yui back. Tamahome appears, saying it mustn't have been his time to die. Miaka's next wish is for Suzaku to seal up Seiryuu. This leaves Nakago powerless in his fight against Tamahome, and Tamahome kills him.
Miaka's third wish is very selfless. She could have wished for Tamahome to be able to stay with her always, but instead, wishes that all the damage to the city be undone. All well with the world, the characters each disappear back into the book. Miaka and Tamahome hold each other tight, but it is no use and Tamahome disappears as well. Miaka is left alone.
She passes her high school entrance exams, and goes to the same school with Yui....still saddened by her lost love, she draws support from Yui. One day, Keisuke shows up and introduces Miaka to a guy that joined his school recently...who looks exactly like Tamahome, and says that he has been searching for his true love, the one he had protected in the past. He shows Miaka the ring on his finger, which matches hers.
