   ASK, a rising, ambitious band in Japan was interviewed by a reporter, Ms. Kaoruko, prior to ASK's first concert. Kaoruko asked of a new band, called 'Bad Luck', who was supposed to be the concert's opening number. Tohma Seguchi, a producer and the president of NG, replied that 'Bad Luck' was the new band being handled by NG. 'Bad Luck' is managed by Sakano who was, at that time, getting impatient waiting for a certain upcoming singer, who had to submit a demo of his music to the manager. Sakano was waiting for Shuichi, a hyper, pink-haired boy, who is the lead singer of 'Bad Luck'. Waiting with Sakano was Hiro, Shuuchi's best friend and 'Bad Luck's' guitarist.

   Shuichi wasn't able to compose a good song but Hiro believed that Shuichi could produce one soon and advised that maybe a girlfriend could inspire him. At the park one night on his way home, his lyrics were blown away by the wind. He tried to retrieve it but a mysterious blond man with golden eyes beat him to it. The blond man straightforwardly criticized Shuichi's lyrics, saying that a child could do better. Shuuchi, raged from the stranger's words, and was able to complete a song. The next day, he broke down Tohma Seguchi's office, and produced the tape, of which was to be the initial song for an album.

   Meanwhile, Shuichi slowly realized that he's become obsessed with this stranger. Shuichi kept running into him everywhere. Hiro learned from Shuuchi that Shuichi is indeed falling for the blond guy. Hiro advised him to go and find the stranger and confess. Shuichi learned of the stranger's place and found out that his name was Yuki Eiri, the most popular romance novelist in Japan. Shuichi dared Yuki to come to the concert and hear his new composed song. Yuki, annoyed with the younger man's ramblings, cornered Shuichi in the elevator and kissed him.

Track-2 :: Live in Soul...

   Shuichi and Hiro were practicing their opening number when ASK intruded to put down their abilities. Suddenly, a car crashed into the stage and came out Mika, Yuki Eiri's older sister. She dragged Shuichi into the car and went to a bar where she introduced Shuichi to Tohma, who happened to be her husband. Mika made a proposition that Shuichi make Yuki meet with their father and she will make sure Tohma gives full support to Bad Luck.

   Yuki, however, didn’t fall for his attempt. Shuichi tried to explain that he didn't want the reward they offered him. He said that he just wanted to do something for Yuki. Yuki didn't understand how someone would actually want to do something for him, so he leaves Shuichi calling him a liar.

   Ryuichi Sakuma, the lead singer of a disbanded, popular band, Nittle Grasper, to which Tohma was a part of, came back to Japan from the US with his manager, K. They go to the ASK’s concert unnoticed. Ryuichi is excited and happy to be in a concert again.

   When Bad Luck was about to start their number, Shuichi got into a shock, seeing Yuki standing at the very back of the audience. He didn't expect that Yuki would come. The crowd grew impatient but Shuichi was saved when Ryuichi, hidden in a crowd of fan girls, came singing as he headed up to the stage. Then, he introduced Shuichi to audience. Shuichi was awed to see Ryuichi, his all-time idol on the stage with him and even accompanied him to his song. Bad Luck with legend Ryuichi Sakuma made a great performance.

   After the concert back at Yuki's apartment, Yuki told Shuichi that he didn’t understand Shuichi's attachment to him. At the end, their shadows could be seen going down to the floor.

Track-3 :: Stray Heart...

^TOP

   Sakano was fired as the manager of Bad Luck. Sakano was unable to manage a furious Shuichi when Tohma announced in his office that Bad Luck will get another member to boost the group's music. Tohma decided to have Sakano as the producer of Bad Luck instead. He also dared Bad Luck to find out how they could better their performance and find their weakness. Hiro understands what he's getting at, but Shuichi is clueless. Shuuchi refused to accept the criticism and had a fight with Hiro, and then he ran away to the park. Ryuichi and K find him crying and try to calm him down. Shuichi goes to see Hiro but confronts a little boy named Fujisaki, the keyboardist, who is the new member of Bad Luck.

  Shuichi didn't like him but after hearing Fujisaki's synthesized arrangement of Shuichi's song, 'Rage Beat', Shuichi refused to give any comments and went into a trance on his way to the toilet. In the toilet, Shuichi cried. Hiro heard him in the toilet. That night, Hiro went to Yuki's apartment and told him, "Please take care of him. If he cries other than his own naive stupidity, I will never forgive you." Yuki found him an interesting person.

  Finding Shuichi in the park, Yuki told him to do his best since Tohma easily disregards worthless people in NG, that he should trust the new member and manager, and to thank his friend.

   Back at Yuki's apartment, they watch a video of Ryuichi. Shuichi told Yuki of how Ryuichi changed his life; how Ryuichi helped him decide that he wanted to be a singer. After that, Yuki said he found Shuichi cute. The next day, in Tohma's office, Bad Luck and Sakano found out that Fujisaki was actually Tohma's cousin.

Track-4 :: Wave Shock...

^TOP

   This episode started with Shuichi moving his possessions to Yuki's apartment. Despite Yuki's resistances to not allow Shuichi in, Yuki gave in saying they will try it for one week. That night, Yuki found a sleeping Shuichi on the couch and covered him with a blanket.

  The next day, Bad Luck met their new manager, K, who happened to be Ryuchi's former manager. K took them to a TV station together with Sakano to join in a Quiz show for publicity. Bad Luck took the opportunity. Later did they know that ASK was to appear in a music show in the same station.

   During the quiz show, Shuichi declared a proposition that if they win, they would perform a song rather than getting the cash prize. The director of the show agreed. At first Shuichi kept getting the wrong answers, much to Hiro and Fujisaki's dismay. Good thing Hiro saved the day, by answering all questions correctly and efficiently, and was called 'Genius Guitarist'.

   At the last portion of the show, Shuichi was chosen to join since it required running on a treadmill to answer. Shuichi answered all questions wrong. He almost gave up until he heard a literature question asking which author won an award for romance novels. Shuichi answered correctly, screaming 'Yuki Eiri'.

   Bad Luck performed their song in the show. K actually expected such events and prepared the instruments beforehand, complete with a showgirl.

   On the way home, Shuichi was hyped up, telling Hiro he was late getting home to Yuki. Then they heard two girls mooning over a new novel by Yuki Eiri. Hiro mentioned that almost everybody wanted to be close to Yuki, and Shuichi is lucky to be closest to the person at hand. Shuichi declared that even if Yuki calls him foolish, stupid and a moron, he would never give up.

   In some part of Japan, a girl with long hair, holding a novel of Yuki, whispered "Eiri, I can't wait any longer."

Track-5 :: Winding Road...

   K burst into the rehearsing studio announcing Bad Luck's concert within two days. Everybody freaked out. Shuichi took it all in a stride, declaring it was no time to just stand by and they need to rehearse.

   On their way home, Hiro and Shuichi helped a young girl, who was harassed by two men. The girl's name was Ayaka Usami and she traveled all the way from Kyoto to look for someone. Hiro volunteered to take care Ayaka while Shuichi went home to his place with Yuki.

   Back at Yuki's place, Shuichi met a guy, who looked a lot like Yuki but with black hair. Tatsuha Uesugi was actually Yuki's younger brother, who was also a die-hard Ryuichi fan like Shuichi. They both recapture favorite scenes from Ryuichi's videos until Tatsuha suggested that Shuichi think of him as Yuki, and he would think of Shuichi as Ryuichi. Yuki entered the scene finding Shuichi on the floor resisting Tatsuha's attempts to seduce him.

   Tatsuha was actually looking for a girl named Ayaka, the girl that they had saved in the park. The next day Shuichi brought Tatsuha to Ayaka and learned that Ayaka was Yuki's fiancée. Yuki took Ayaka in.

   Ayaka learned from Yuki of his relationship with Shuichi. She told Shuichi to stay away since Yuki is her fiancée. Shuichi agreed, thinking there's no way he could compete with a fiancée.

   Shuichi and the group go to perform on the stage but Shuichi spots Yuki and Ayaka in the crowd. In the middle of Shuichi's song he can't help but scream "Yuki is mine", and Ayaka saw a smile on Yuki's face.

   That evening, Ayaka went out for dinner with Hiro. Hiro commented on her big appetite and she replied that it maybe because of her broken heart.

   Hiro: But you haven't decided to break up yet.
   Ayaka: No but Eiri never shows me that sort of expression.
   She cries.

   Back at Yuki's place, Yuki told Shuichi that he would be Shuichi's lover.

Track-6 :: Shady Scheme...

^TOP

   Yuki was getting ready to sell his next novel. Shuichi tracked Yuki down in the street and told him that Bad Luck was getting a record deal. When they arrived back at Yuki's house Yuki's sister was waiting for him. Up in the apartment she and Shuichi start yelling private facts about Yuki. Thus making Yuki mad and kicking them both out. She took Shuichi out for dinner and told her that he knows nothing about his beloved Yuki. They did not know that ASK's Tachi and the reporter Kaoruko were listening at a nearby table. Back at Yuki's place, Yuki apologized to Shuichi for throwing him out. Shuichi begged Yuki to tell him of his past. Shuichi wanted to hear it from Yuki and nobody else. Yuki kissed him to shut him up.

   The next day, Yuki Eiri got mad at Shuichi, believing Shuichi shared about their relationship to the media. Yuki heard earlier from two girls at a bookstore of a gossip circulating in the magazines regarding the subject at hand.

   Shuichi, while in a train station, got chased by a lot of girls and was saved by Tachi of ASK. But then, they were chased down. Tachi invited Shuichi to his place for a drink. Tachi had an agenda though. He hired gangsters to rape Shuichi while he took pictures for the purpose of blackmail. He wanted Shuichi to quit Bad Luck or else, something might happen to Yuki.

   Hiro later got a call from Shuichi, who was waiting in front of his place but unable to stand. He took care of Shuichi. The next day, Hiro went to Yuki and told him what happened to Shuichi. Hiro was so mad he was to punch Yuki. But Yuki was so strong, he simply removed Hiro's grip on his collar and demanded where he could find Tachi.

Track-7 :: Ground Zero...

   Shuichi woke up at Hiro's house with a sore stomach. Hiro had gotten him the day off, so he decided to go patch things up with Yuki, but first decided to tell K and Sakano that he's alright. Shuichi was able to get to work and announced to K and Sakano he had to quit. Hiro came in and said he wouldn't allow it since the situation is already being taken care of.

   At a vacant studio, Yuki punched Ma-kun of ASK to a bloody pulp and demanded to have what he came for. Tachi, getting scared from Yuki's fierce eyes, gave the film and commented Yuki's eyes were of a murderer. When Yuki came out of the room, he found Shuichi wearing a girl's school uniform. Shuichi fainted on the street when he tried to chase Yuki, who wanted to get away from him as far as possible.

 &nsbp; Back at Yuki's place, Yuki said that he has to leave Shuichi.

   Later on the episode, Bad Luck finished recording their album and everyone in the group celebrated. Shuichi then announced that he gave up on Yuki. Everyone went in a shock.

   That evening, Hiro walks with a drunken Shuchi. Hiro didn't believe Shuichi had forgotten Yuki because Shuichi unconsciously led them to Yuki's place. There they met Ayaka, who punched Shuichi so hard when Shuichi confirmed the news. Ayaka said she accepted the marriage proposal earlier.

   Shuichi ran to the apartment to confront Yuki but found it bare. He got so mad; he did graffiti on the wall, until Tatsuha came and encouraged Shuichi to come with him.

   At Yuki's father's home, Yuki, Mika and their father talked of the coming marriage. Tatsuha came to announce Ayaka's presence but the one who came out was Shuchi, wearing a girl's dress with lots of make-up.

   Outside, Yuki finally tells Shuichi his past of killing someone. Still, Shuichi accepted him. "The past doesn't matter! You have come a long way with your threats, with that skill. You can no longer run away from me. And you still have the courage to marry someone else?" And Yuki whacks him saying, "Not enough to marry you." Back Hiro and Ayaka stood on the path where Yuki and Shuichi first met. Ayaka said she wanted Yuki to be happy more than anything else, so she's okay with everything.

Track-8 :: Song and Song...

^TOP

   Tohma arrived late at a bar where Ryuichi and a girl named Noriko were waiting for him. He apologized for being late and their conversation revolved around Shuichi.

   At NG, an interview is being done to promote Bad Luck's debut album. In the middle of the interview, Ma-kun of ASK barged in to tell Shuichi that Tachi is off to Yuki's place.

   At Yuki's place, Tachi has Yuki cornered to the wall. Tachi was threatening Yuki when Shuichi burst through the wall and pounded Tachi to the floor while Yuki stared at the big hole on his wall. Tachi was able to run away but met Tohma on the street. Tohma circles around Tachi, saying he was a fool to lay his hands on Yuki. When Tachi asks why Tohma tells him it's because he loves Yuki, and pushes Tachi in front of a car which skidded to a stop. Then he tells Tachi that he's giving up on ASK.

   Meanwhile, Yuki was crying his eyes out to Shuichi. "I really wanted to be with you but I couldn't. I didn't want to chase you away." Shuichi promised that he wouldn't let anyone hurt Yuki.

   Next scene, K announced to Bad Luck that they will be special guests of Hit Stage, a popular half hour music show. Everyone's excited. This is the time Noriko came and declared that Bad Luck was only the opening number and the special guests were Nittle Grasper. The change was requested by Ryuichi.

   Before the show started, K reminded Shuichi that no matter what happens, he would be compared to Ryuichi, and Shuichi should remember that.

  Bad Luck was congratulated because of their performance. Ryuichi even asked Shuichi for an autograph. When Nittle Grasper sang onstage, Shuichi was so awed by Ryuichi's performance, he knelt and cried.

Track-9 :: The Deepest Brain...

^TOP

   Bad Luck's group is concerned at Shuichi for not coming to work for a week. K was about to 'shoot' some sense to Shuichi but Nakano stopped him, promising to stop at Yuki's place on his way home to check on his best friend. Hiro learned Shuichi was loosing his confidence. Shuichi has started being scared of singing and of competition.

   After a while, Yuki came home finding Shuichi packing all his things that remind of Ryuichi. Shuichi believed that it was time to forget Ryuichi as his idol and must concentrate more on his career. Yuki commented his action as idiotic and a sniper suddenly winged past his head. The sniper attack was actually from K, who aimed at a nearby rooftop. K's action was from an earlier conversation with Yuki at a park. They had a deal that if Yuki can convince Shuichi that he was a good enough singer, He would give them a pair of tickets to the amusement park.

   Yuki promised Shuichi that if he gets to sell 1 million copies of their album Yuki would take him to the amusement park. Shuichi became all hyped up and went to endless promotional activities.

   One day Shuichi found Yuki not in his apartment and he then got trapped because reporters suddenly surrounded the apartment, demanding to know the real story between him and Yuki.

   Yuki saw the ramble at his place from a TV at a hospital while he purchased his medicines for an illness that was in small doses shown earlier in the series. When he reached home, he was immediately surrounded by reporters. Then came out Shuichi, demanding they must not hurt Yuki. All of a sudden, Yuki announced they were lovers.

   Back at NG, everybody saw the news. K and Sakano were okay with the news since it would help boost their sales. Hiro on the other hand, flat out resigned from the group saying, "We aren't making music to sell a million albums!"

Track-10 :: Heads or Tails...

^TOP

   Shuichi failed to make Hiro stay at Bad Luck He felt that it's only become a way to make money. It was at this time, Hiro confessed his feelings for Ayaka. Shuichi told Yuki of their problem. Yuki went to Ayaka's home at Kyoto and asked her for a favor.

   At the studio, K announced that Bad Luck was to tour 30 districts nationwide. There was also an interview to announce Bad Luck's tour together with Hiro's retirement. Shuichi was very against the latter plan but he was outnumbered.

   After Shuichi announced on the radio airwaves regarding Bad Luck's debut album, Ryuichi spotted him in the hallway. Shuichi ran the other way and Ryuichi started chasing him, thinking it was a game.

   When Shuichi was caught, he asked Ryuichi if Nittle Grasper could go on without Tohma or Noriko. Ryuichi became tearful. "Why are you asking me this? I don't like a Shuichi who asks such a question!" Ryuichi ran away.

   On the day of the press conference or interview, Hiro was in the middle of packing stuff in his apartment when Ayaka came. "Nakano, you're in love with me, aren't you?" Hiro was surprised. "If Bad Luck can sell a million albums I will go out with you. I'm not doing this because Eiri asked me to. It must be, in order to break up with him." At the press conference, Shuichi begged on air for Hiro to come back. Hiro came through the room and embraced Shuichi. Everyone in the room, crew, reporters, etc., clapped for then. Another surprise came when Ryuichi came, wearing a pink bunny costume, to give them a cup trophy for reaching 1 million album sales.

   At Yuki's house, Tohma turned off the TV. He looked up in surprise as Yuki dropped his drink and his hands over his mouth. A few drops of blood slipped through Yuki's fingers.

Track-11 :: Secret Day ...

^TOP

   Tohma took Yuki to the hospital when Yuki started vomiting blood. When Shuichi got a phone call about it, he hurried to the hospital. He immediately found Yuki's room but didn't enter when he heard voices. "No matter how hard he tries, he won't follow me there. If the source of the stress is us being together, then that's best." Mika's voice said "I'm not saying that you have to completely separate from Shindou but with your current condition, you should stay away from him for now."

   K and Hiro arrived at the hospital only to find Shuichi walking dejectedly towards them.

   That night, Shuichi sneaked back into the hospital room where Yuki was confined. Yuki was awake and he remembered his promise to Shuichi.

   They have a wonderful time at the amusement park where Yuki and Shuuchi ate ice cream, rode a roller coaster, played shooter games, got their picture taken together in a photo booth etc. At sunset, Yuki showed Shuichi a picture of him as a child, together with the man he killed, named Kitazawa. Yuki was attracted to that man. A flash back scene was shown, of a younger Yuki looking up in fear as shadows of two people fell on him. Money was exchanged. The next scene was Yuki crying to Tohma with a dead Kitazawa beside them." Yuki said he took Kitazawa's first name, Yuki, as his pen name. Shuichi told Yuki he would buy drinks.

   At the vending machine, Shuichi laughs maniacally, ecstatically happy that Yuki confessed everything to him.

   Scene gets back to Yuki tearing the picture and throwing the piece to the bay while saying, "Go home, Yuki".

    When Shuichi came back to where he left Yuki, he couldn't find Yuki anywhere.

Track-12 :: Breathless...

^TOP

   Shuichi went home to Yuki's place and did not find Yuki there. Shuichi arrived in the studio dirty and very tired, since he hyperactively ran to every place Yuki had been, even to Kyoto, to find him. Tohma called in Shuichi to his office alone. Tohma told Shuichi to stay away from Yuki, wherever he may be, since Shuichi was the source of Yuki's pain.

   The next day, Shuichi was found in the airport dressed as a luggage at immigration. He was trying to pass as a luggage to get to New York. Shuichi was so persistent but was able to be wheeled out by K. In K's van, K told of the risks involved if he left Bad Luck. At the studio, Shuichi was handed an envelope containing the key to Yuki's place.

   “I understand. I finally understand. Yuki has no plans to come back to me. He didn't take his belongings this time. He left everything behind. Among those things Yuki needs, I am not included.”

   K replied, “How does that matter? There are many people who still need you. Of course we do. And one million existing fans do. And tens of millions of fans in the future will. Shuichi in the future more people will value you than you might think possible.”

   At the time of the show, in a dressing room, Noriko and Ryuichi turned on the TV and saw Shuichi singing 'Blind Game Again'. Ryuichi suddenly said, “It's not reaching. It's not reaching at all.”

   After Bad Luck's performance, they see Noriko and Ryuichi coming towards them. Shuichi greeted them good morning but Ryuichi just walked past him with no acknowledgement that he was there. Shuichi calls out but his voice was gone. He couldn't make a sound as Ryuichi walked away.

Track-13 :: Got It All...

^TOP

   Shuichi lost his voice. Everybody is suddenly at a panic on what to do on the concert. At the studio, Shuichi talks to everyone by making signs. Sakano tried to ask Tohma for help, but Tohma had other priorities. Tohma at that time was preparing for his flight for New York. He promised Mika he would look for Yuki there.

   Later that night, at NG studios, Ryuichi was listening to Bad Luck's album in the dark. He spotted Shuichi at the door but Shuuchi bowed, turned and ran off. A child-like Ryuichi tackled Shuichi. Ryuichi noticed the pad of paper Shuichi used for making signs. Ryuichi drew a giant, shining picture of him on a stage while Shuichi drew a tiny picture of himself with a microphone. Ryuichi yanked the pad and started drawing again. He showed Shuuchi what he did. It was a new shining picture of Shuichi. Ryuichi then seriously said, “This song”

   Later on Shuichi sat on the bench where he first met Yuki and remembered Ryuichi's words. He then wrote the song 'Glaring Dream'.

   Next day at New York, Yuki remembered his last days with Kitazawa. He was in his memories when the ground shook and he looked up in shock to find Shuichi burst through the floor in a dog suit. “Don't screw around. Don't screw around!! Do you think you can escape from me? Even if you try to escape or die, I'll search and I'll find you! Because I'll never allow it! Because I love you!”

  At the concert, Ryuichi, Noriko, Hiro and Fujisaki performed, 'Sleepless Beauty' when Shuichi came crashing through the ceiling of the dome and made a hole on the stage. It was Shuichi, who came down from a plane. The crowd went nuts. Shuichi was handed a microphone by a serious Ryuichi. “Shine, Shuichi. Your shine will reach them.” In a graveyard in New York, Tohma found Yuki. “Eiri. Where are you going?” ”I'm going back,” Yuki replied. “Back home.”
