The Science Department at SJMP is vibrant and dynamic. Many students are active in participating in the Canada Science Fair. Many place well provincially and win medals. For 2005-2006, the girls won 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze medals. Many of our students take co-op and work with renowned professors at the University of Toronto.

Our students also write the Sir Isaac Newton (SIN) Physics, Da Vinci U of T Physics competitions, The Chem News and Avogadro Chemistry competitions, and University of Toronto Biology competition. Linda Li won first place in the Ontario Association of Physics Teachers, and all the Morrow Park students who competed placed in the top 10% of this very challenging competition.

Miyuki Tsukimoto, one of our former students has placed first in the Leonardo da Vinci Grade 11 Physics competition (2002-2003). She is the only student in our board to place in this very challenging and prestigious competition. Her results have placed her in first place for Eastern Canada . Miyuki also places in the 100th percentile in the U of T Physics and placed 2nd in the Ontario Physics Teachers Competition. Once again, she is the only student in the Board to place in this competition. Finally, Miyuki has also placed in the top 5% of the Chem News Chemistry Examination. This last competition is usually written by Grade 12 and OAC students! Miyuki has been offered an internship at the University of Toronto and has received other prizes as well. Based on her achievements we would like to recommend her for a Board Achievement Award.

Many of our students have gone on to University and have achieved high levels of success in engineering, medicine and technology.
